Consumer spending bolsters U.S. second-quarter growth 9:04am EDT

WASHINGTON - U.S. economic growth accelerated in the second quarter as solid consumer spending offset the drag from weak business spending on equipment, suggesting a steady momentum that could bring the Federal Reserve closer to hiking interest rates this year.

A University of Cincinnati police officer who killed an unarmed black motorist is expected to be arraigned today on murder charges. Protests were peaceful overnight after the Hamilton County prosecutor called the killing "senseless" and "unwarranted."  Full Article
