Turkey ratchets up Syria offensive

KARKAMIS, Turkey - Rebels supported by Turkey fought Kurdish-backed forces in northern Syria, as Ankara ratcheted up its cross-border offensive by saying it had launched air strikes against both Kurdish forces and Islamic State.
