NEW YORK (Reuters) - Sports Illustrated magazine and NBCSports.com said on Monday they will share video, news and photography on their Web sites.

The partnership, which launched this past weekend, features high-speed Internet video segments produced by NBCSports.com that are featured on Sports Illustrated's SI.com Web site.

SI.com will point viewers toward NBCSports.com broadband segments featuring breaking news, short video and post-game interviews, as well as sports update segments on weekends, the company said.

The companies did not disclose financial terms.

The deal is the latest attempt by traditional media companies to broaden their Internet offerings to include video, which is gaining popularity as more people subscribe to high-speed Internet connections.

That popularity has been highlighted by sites like Google Inc.'s YouTube, which in turn has spurred media companies to find ways to make money from video by attracting viewers to their own Web sites.

"Both sites will point to the other site's content," said Sports Illustrated spokesman Rick McCabe. "If you're on SI.com, and there is an appropriate piece of video that we're aware of, something that would tailor well, it would be set up as a link to that story from SI.com."

Sports Illustrated is owned by Time Warner Inc., while NBC is owned by General Electric Co.
