May 1 (Reuters) - Business software maker BEA Systems Inc. BEAS.O cut its first-quarter total revenue outlook range to $342 million to $347 million, saying it faced a difficult selling environment, specially in the Americas.

The company, which also said several large deals slipped out of the quarter, had in February forecast a revenue range of $350 million to $364 million.

License revenue is expected to be in the range of $111 million to $116 million, it added in a statement.
