GLASTONBURY (Reuters Life!) - Britain's Glastonbury music festival, known for its mind-crushing sounds and high volume intensity, has a solution not to annoy its rural neighbors after midnight by providing a silent disco.

The brainchild of Emily Eavis, daughter of festival founder Michael Eavis, the venue is designed to stop noise pollution, and appease local authorities and neighbors in these southwest England pastures at the same time allowing festival-goers to party all night.

Many bleary-eyed disco-goers said on Friday they had been up overnight at the silent disco, where revelers listen through personal headphones to dance tunes. The aim is to dance the night away in complete silence.

Coco, a 21-year-old student wearing leggings, a purple sweater and sunglasses, described the disco as "amazing" but said it was not totally silent as many party animals "screamed along to their own music".
