Barr Pharma confirms patent challenge of Aggrenox

Co confirmed that its subsidiary, Barr Laboratories, has initiated a challenge of the patent listed by Boehringer Ingelheim in connection with its Aggrenox 25 mg/200 mg capsules. The co believes that it is the first to file an Abbreviated New Drug Application containing a paragraph I.V certification for Aggrenox. The co filed its A.N.D.A containing a paragraph I.V certification for a generic Aggrenox product with the FDA in January 2007, and received notification of the application's acceptance for filing in May 2007.
