Aug 1 (Reuters) - Parker Drilling Co. (PKD.N) said the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan upheld a 2006 ruling that the Kazakhstan branch of one of its subsidiaries was liable to pay income taxes related to the import of a drilling barge. The taxes relate to $99 million of reimbursements that the Parker unit received for modifications performed outside Kazakhstan for the barge, the offshore drilling services provider said in a statement.

Parker said it does not yet know the exact amount of the judgment, which it plans to take up for review with the Kazakhstan government. (Reporting by Ramya Dilip in Bangalore)
