FedEx unit FedEx Kinko's to expand operations

CHICAGO Aug 6 (Reuters) - FedEx Corp.(FDX.N) unit FedEx Kinko's said on Monday it plans to open 300 new office and print centers in the United States through June 2008. FedEx Kinko's, with more than 1,700 locations, plans to will redesign 110 existing centers and introduce 20 new locations internationally, mainly focusing on the Asia-Pacific region in its 2008 fiscal year.
Last August, the FedEx unit introduced a smaller store format and announced plans to open 200 centers nationwide with the new design. It said Monday that the latest domestic expansion will feature the same small-format design.
FedEx Kinko's, with 159 locations outside the United States, also said it will add 19 locations in Asia Pacific -- 12 in China, four in Japan, two in Korea and one in Australia. The other international addition will be in Canada.
The push in China means the company will almost double its presence there, said FedEx Kinko's, which offers copying, digital printing, banner and other document services.
