News Corp may sell Dow Jones's local papers

NEW YORK Aug 8 (Reuters) - News Corp NWSa.N chief Rupert Murdoch said on Wednesday that the company probably will sell Dow Jones & Co Inc's DJ.N local U.S. newspapers after buying the publisher.

News Corp. will keep Dow Jones's other properties, which include The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones Newswires, the Factiva online news archive, the Barron's investor's weekly and the MarketWatch.com financial news Web site, Murdoch said..

"We will probably be selling the local newspapers," Murdoch told analysts on a telephone conference call to discuss News Corp's quarterly earnings results. He did not name any local papers. (Reporting by Kenneth Li and Robert MacMillan)
