--The machine vision systems maker forecast third-quarter
earnings of 5 cents to 10 cents a share on revenue of $50
million to $55 million.

--Excluding stock-option expenses and operating expenses,
Cognex said it expects earnings of 9 cents to 14 cents a share
for the third quarter.

--For the third-quarter, analysts on average expect the
company to earn 15 cents a share, excluding exceptional items,
on revenue of $57.9 million, according to Reuters Estimates.

--Shares of the company fell 7.7 percent to $20 in late
electronic trade, after closing at $21.66 Wednesday on the
Nasdaq.
