Anacor Pharmaceuticals files for $57.5 million IPO

WASHINGTON Aug 31 (Reuters) - Anacor Pharmaceuticals Inc. filed with regulators on Friday to raise up to $57.5 million in an initial public offering of common stock.

Morgan Stanley, Cowen and Co., Pacific Growth Equities, and Needham & Co. are underwriting the IPO, according to the registration statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Anacor plans to list its shares on the Nasdaq under the symbol "ANAC" (ANAC.O).
