WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Diplomacy is the United States' preferred path to try to resolve suspicions that Iran may be seeking to obtain a nuclear weapon, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Friday.

"It is important to note that we have set out a diplomatic path that includes negotiation as the preferred means by which to resolve this issue," Rice told reporters at a joint news conference with French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner.
