Atari Inc names chief restructuring officer

PARIS Oct 15 (Reuters) - Europe's largest video games maker Infogrames IFOE.PA said on Monday that its loss-making U.S. affiliate Atari Inc. ATAR.O has appointed a chief restructuring officer and four independent board members.
The appointments follow a recent decision by Infogrames, which is seking to restore profitability at its 51 percent owned U.S. unit, to remove five Atari board directors.
Atari Inc. named Curtis G. Solsvig III as chief restructuring officer, the statement said.
It also named Wendell Adair, Eugene I. Davis, James B. Shein, and Bradley Eric Scher as independent directors.
They will join Evence-Charles Coppée, Jean-Michel Perbet and Thomas Schmider as members of the Atari Inc board.
Davis has been appointed the non-executive chairman while Adair, Davis and Shein will serve on the audit committee of the board, with Adair acting as chairman.
