Fox cuts order for Parker Posey TV comedy
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Fox has cut the order for its midseason Parker Posey comedy "The Return of Jezebel James" to seven episodes from 13, including the pilot.
Posey plays a single successful book editor who learns that she is physically unable to conceive and asks her estranged younger sister (Lauren Ambrose) to carry her baby for her.
"We have always planned to launch 'The Return of Jezebel James' in midseason, and seven episodes are all we need to allow us to program the series through the current broadcast season," Fox said Friday.
The show, from "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, also stars Dianne Wiest, Ron McLarty, Michael Arden and Scott Cohen.
