FACTBOX: Record oil price still below inflation-adjusted high

(Reuters) - U.S. oil surged to a nominal all-time high of $85.19 a barrel on Monday, boosting the annual average price to $66.96.

Adjusted for inflation, that is still below the $90 annual average in 1980, the start of the Iran-Iraq war.
