CHICAGO Oct 25 (Reuters) - The Chicago Mercantile Exchange has delisted its ethanol futures contract traded on the Globex electronic trading platform, leaving the Chicago Board of Trade's ethanol contract the only biofuel game in town.

CME Group CME.N, which includes the CBOT, delisted the CME corn-based ethanol contract effective Sept. 21, 2007, along with its fertilizer contracts for Urea, Urea Ammonium Nitrate and Diammonium Phosphate.

CME said there was no open interest in any contract months.

CBOT ethanol futures remain thinly traded despite the rapid growth of the ethanol industry in the United States.

New York's Intercontinentalexchange (ICE.N) also has a sugar-based ethanol contract.
