Musharraf emergency order blames militants, judges

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf imposed emergency rule on Saturday because of mounting militant attacks and interference by members of the judiciary, according to the text of his order.

The order, seen by Reuters, says he made the decision because of "visible ascendancy in the activities of extremists and incidents of terrorist attacks, including suicide bombings."
