Chimera Investment IPO raises $499.5 million

NEW YORK Nov 15 (Reuters) - Chimera Investment Corporation on Thursday raised $499.5 million with an initial public offering that was priced as forecast.

The 33.3 million share offering sold for $15 per share, matching a forecast.

Underwriters, led by Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank, have the option to purchase an additional 5 million shares to cover overallotments.

The company, a real estate investment trust, expects to invest in residential mortgage loans, residential mortgage-backed securities, real estate-related securities and other asset classes.
