MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., Nov. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Offense-Defense Sports isproud to announce today that stand-out lineman Kurt Wermers from Crown PointHigh School in Crown Point, Indiana has officially accepted his invitation toplay and participate in the second-annual Offense-Defense All-American Bowl asa member of Team East. Wermers, a veritable renaissance man whose hobbiesinclude weightlifting, playing guitar, singing, and reading, also enjoysspending time on the virtual field of battle in the wildly popular massivelymultiplayer role-playing game World of Warcraft when not battling in thetrenches on the football field.

Kurt will be joining 88 of the finest high school football players fromacross the United States tabbed to make their mark on national televisionJanuary 4th, 2008 at Orange Bowl Stadium in Miami, FL. The teams will bedivided into East and West squads, both coached by a cadre of the mostqualified personnel available including legendary ex-NFL wide receiver andcurrent HBO football analyst Cris Carter. The game will be broadcast livenationwide by Fox College Sports and will feature various celebrities inattendance such as 2007 Miss America Lauren Nelson on hand to sing thenational anthem, former Dallas Cowboy legend Nate Newton providing colorcommentary, and many, many more.

Last year's inaugural event was a hard-hitting affair that saw Team Eastcome away with a hard-fought 28-14 victory over the West squad. CurrentFlorida Gator backup quarterback and star-in-the-making Cameron Newton walkedaway with MVP honors in the contest which featured a bevy of players who arecurrently making their mark in the NCAA Division-I ranks.
