Singapore's GIC says UBS stake may go up to 9 pct

SINGAPORE Dec 10 (Reuters) - Singapore Investment Corporation Pte. Ltd. (GIC). said on Monday its stake in Swiss bank UBS AG (UBSN.VX) may go up to 9 percent after conversion of notes.

The Swiss bank said in an earlier statement that GIC will invest 11 billion Swiss francs ($9.75 billion) in the bank, and an undisclosed strategic investor from the Middle East will put up another CHF 2 billion. (Reporting by Kevin Lim and Sebastian Tong
