GE Commercial Finance, Allied Capital launch fund

BOSTON Dec 20 (Reuters) - GE Commercial Finance (GE.N) and Allied Capital ALD.N said on Thursday they joined forces to launch a $3.6 billion senior secured unitranche loan fund designed to help the private equity sector.

The companies said borrowers in the health care, media, energy, aerospace, business service and transportation sectors will be able to tap into financing commitments of up to $500 million in size.

They said Unitranche Fund LLC is supposed deliver loans more quickly and simply to borrowers. (Reporting by Svea Herbst-Bayliss; Editing by Derek Caney)
