ST PETERSBURG, Russia Dec 21 (Reuters) - Russia's Sberbank (SBER03.MM) may take a decision to list its shares on the London Stock Exchange in the end of the first quarter of 2008, Chief Executive Officer German Gref told Reuters on Friday.

"The decision is possible by the end of the first quarter, the listing is possible next year," Gref said.

State-controlled Sberbank raised 230 billion roubles ($9.29 billion) earlier this year in a domestic rights issue that some foreign investors avoided due to concerns over transparency. (Reporting by Denis Pinchuk, writing by Gleb Bryanski)
