LONDON |
LONDON (Reuters Life!) - Police investigating a machete attack on the boyfriend of Sugababe Amelle Berrabah said on Thursday they had arrested a man. Boyfriend Freddie Fuller, 25, sustained serious arm and leg injuries in the attack in Aldershot which took place at around 9:15 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Hampshire police said a 28-year-old man from Aldershot had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of a 25-year-old.
Media reports said Berrabah, 23, and tree surgeon Fuller had been out visiting bars in the town with her sisters when the attack took place and that Fuller underwent a six-hour operation in Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey.
Berrabah is the most recent member of the Sugababes, replacing co-founder Mutya Buena two years ago.
The three-girl group is due to appear at a New Year's Eve show in London's O2 arena.
