CHICAGO | Fri Jan 4, 2008 12:14pm EST

CHICAGO Jan 4 (Reuters) - Drugstore chain Rite Aid Corp (RAD.N) on Friday said it would exit the Las Vegas, Nevada, market, selling patient prescriptions in 27 stores in that market to Walgreen Co (WAG.N).

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Las Vegas is not a core market for the company that has not been contributing to overall results, Rite Aid said. (Reporting by Brad Dorfman; Editing by Mark Porter)
