Skinit Showcasing Art Skins from the HP and MTV Design Competition 'Take
Action. Make Art.' at CES
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- CES -- Skinit, Inc., the global leader
in consumer electronic device personalization, today announced that HP and
Skinit will showcase winners from the global design competition "Take Action.
Make Art." at CES 2008 in Las Vegas.
Contest entrants were encouraged to submit ideas from subjects they are
passionate about, whether it's related to fashion, music, the environment or
peace. The winning submission will be used in the design of a special edition
HP Pavilion notebook PC using the company's innovative HP Imprint finish.
HP has encouraged young people around the globe to express what is
personal to them by incorporating that thought into a notebook design. The
winning notebook is expected to be available to consumers worldwide in March
2008, and winning designs from runners-up in Asia, Europe, Latin America and
the United States will also have their personal expressions created into
adhesive HP notebook skins by Skinit available online at http://hp.skinit.com
to consumers around the world.
"We are excited to be chosen as HP's preferred provider of adhesive skins
and extend our global relationship with HP further with the 'Take Action. Make
Art.' design competition," said Paul Buss, CEO, Skinit. "Our program with HP
to personalize notebooks via skins has been tremendously successful since its
introduction. It is clear that people want to express themselves and show
their uniqueness. This competition has created some very interesting designs
and we're proud to be supporting HP with initiatives like this," Mr. Buss
continues.
The winning design and sample skins from the runners-up will be showcased
at HP's 17,000 square foot booth at CES 2008. Skins from second to fifth place
are also available to purchase at http://hp.skinit.com.
Additional skins are available at http://hp.skinit.com, including
exclusive, limited edition skins designed by Vladimir Kagan, Naeem Khan and
Cath Kidston. Proceeds from each designer skins purchase will go directly to
the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS; as well as Chopper designs,
