L-1 Identity Solutions Receives $17M Fingerprint Contract with the California Department of Social Services
Integrated Biometric Technology to Fingerprint California Daycare
Workers in Three Year Contract
STAMFORD, Conn.--(Business Wire)--L-1 Identity Solutions, Inc. (NYSE:ID) a leading provider of
identity solutions and services, announced that fingerprint services
division Integrated Biometric Technology received a three-year
contract with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS).
Estimated revenues under the contract, including both fees paid
directly by CDSS and fees paid by applicants, are approximately $17
million over the three-year term. The CDSS expects to process and
enroll more than 300,000 California daycare workers through IBT as
part of this program.
California has more than 56,000 licensed daycare facilities, all
subject to the California Department of Social Services licensing
regulations. This includes a requirement for all workers to have
criminal record clearance, including fingerprinting.
IBT is an industry leader in civil applicant fingerprinting
services, processing nearly 1 million applicants a year. Prospective
licensee and employee fingerprints are captured electronically by a
certified IBT technician and submitted electronically the same day for
processing through State and Federal AFIS systems. Faster and more
accurate fingerprint submission through IBT services enables civil
agencies to receive criminal history results in days instead of
months, licensing and putting to work qualified employees quickly and
with peace of mind.
IBT operates approximately 50 fingerprinting centers throughout
California for the processing of applicants in a variety of industries
including child care, insurance, real estate, banking, education, and
healthcare. Applicants can schedule a fingerprinting appointment by
calling our customer service center at 1-800-315-4507 or by visiting
our website at www.ibtfingerprint.com.
"We have served the background check and enrollment needs of the
citizens of California for 10 years and are confident in our ability
to continue to provide a convenient, efficient and secure method of
fingerprinting daycare workers for the CDSS," said Charles Carroll,
CEO of IBT.
