Marion Selects Encentuate for Seamless Integration with Multiple
Authentication Factors to Secure Facility and Network Access
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(Business Wire)--Encentuate, a provider of end-point identity and access management
(IAM) solutions, today announced that Marion General Hospital, in
Marion, Ind., has deployed Encentuate to improve user productivity and
enhance security through multi-factor strong authentication, session
management, single sign-on and graceful logoff. At Marion General,
Encentuate automates workflow in the hospital's shared workstation
environment through fast user switching, which allows staff to easily
login and logout of the hospital's network and applications with a
fingerprint or ID badge. In less than three weeks, Encentuate deployed
its IAM suite, leveraging the hospital's new physical security system,
and integrating physical and network access with employee HID badges.

Encentuate provides automated single sign-on and sign-off to all
of Marion's legacy, Web, and desktop applications, including the
Meditech HCIS platform and Microsoft Outlook, for both shared and
personal workstations. Marion employees can access multiple
workstations by simply tapping their ID badge on digital readers and
entering a single, strong password, or placing their finger on a
biometric reader. As they move from workstation to workstation and
floor to floor, they can login and logout automatically and
gracefully, saving valuable time. Encentuate provides Marion's IT
staff with centralized administration and the ability to instantly
revoke access while automatically enforcing security policies at the
user, group, or application level.

"I was impressed by the speed and manner in which Encentuate
implemented the IAM suite, while integrating with our new badge system
for physical access, as well as with additional second factors such as
biometric readers," said Emmanuel Ndow, chief information officer at
Marion General Hospital. "I believe this solution will have a
tremendous impact on our staff's ability to do their jobs more
efficiently, and at the same time it will ease the IT burden
surrounding access security and compliance."

By protecting confidential information through secure access and
user-centric audit logs, Encentuate helps Marion comply with HIPAA
regulations, while automating and enforcing the hospital's security
policies. Managing access to all applications through a single, strong
password simplifies user experience, and eliminates the need to
remember a username and password for each application or network
resource.

"With Encentuate, Marion employees can securely access information
with the same HID badge they use to enter the facility and pay for
their lunch. Depending on user group and preference, they can also
access information with biometric readers. Encentuate is driving
customer cost-savings through flexibility and easy integration with a
variety of form factors and the ability to leverage the existing
physical infrastructure," said E.K. Koh, VP of Products at Encentuate.
