Innovative Concepts for ER One to be Studied for First Time in Patient Setting

    WASHINGTON, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ --

    WHAT:     Washington Hospital Center unveils new state-of-the-art
              technologies to be used in its Emergency Department. Features
              include all negative pressure isolation rooms: surfaces made of
              new materials designed to reduce the spread of infection; and
              uniquely designed work spaces. The features are designed to both
              improve daily patient care and allow for an effective response
              to a mass casualty, bio-terror, or emerging disease event.

    WHEN:     Thursday, January 10, 2008
              10 a.m.: Remarks followed by a brief tour

              Note: This will be the only opportunity for media to photograph

    WHY:      This marks the first time some of the technologies developed
              for Project ER One will be used in a patient setting. ER One
              will be a scalable, all-risks ready emergency care facility
              that can be used on a daily basis yet is optimized to provide
              emergency care during a mass casualty situation.
