KUWAIT Jan 15 (Reuters) - Kuwait logistics provider Agility (AGLT.KW) has bought a logistics company in Kenya, a spokesman for the firm said on Tuesday.

The Kuwait Stock Exchange said earlier on Tuesday it had halted trading in shares of logistics provider pending clarification of newspaper reports it had bought a company in Kenya.

Al-Qabas daily reported on Tuesday that Agility had bought a firm called Star Freight Logistics in Nairobi, citing the firm's chief executive for the Middle East and North Africa.

The news about the Kenyan acquisition is "correct", said the public relations official, who declined to be identified.
