DUBLIN Jan 15 (Reuters) - Irish food group Greencore GNC.I Plc has appointed Geoff Doherty as chief financial officer, succeeding Patrick Coveney who became group chief executive designate in December, Greencore said on Tuesday. Doherty, whose appointment will take effect from Feb. 15, joined Greencore in 2001 as group financial controller, before becoming group development director and joining the board in 2005.

Doherty will also become chief executive of property and agribusiness activities, said Greencore (GNC.L), which describes itself as Britain's biggest sandwich maker. (Reporting by Andras Gergely; editing by Sue Thomas)
