Award under the Greene King Long-Term Incentive Plan to a person discharging
managerial responsibilities


Greene King plc announces that on 11 January 2007 it granted an award to Stuart
Ross, Managing Director, Belhaven, under the rules of the Long Term Incentive
Plan, in respect of 39,623 ordinary shares. The award has been made in the form
of a conditional award of shares which will be transferred to the participant if
the performance conditions (to be satisfied over the three financial years of
the company to May 2010) are met.


The award will be funded in due course by the transfer of shares from Kleinwort
Benson (Guernsey) Trustees Ltd, as trustee of the Greene King Employee Share
Trust.
