Landstuhl Regional Medical Center Implements CliniComp's Essentris to Provide Seamless Care for Injured Soldiers

Real-Time Access to Soldiers' Medical Records Enables Clinicians
to Make Informed, Safer Care Decisions Throughout Care Continuum
SAN DIEGO--(Business Wire)--CliniComp Intl., a leading provider of intelligent charting and
surveillance solutions, today announced that the U.S. Department of
Defense (DoD) is deploying its full Essentris clinical suite at
Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) in Germany. The Essentris go
live at LRMC represents a major leap forward in improving clinicians'
access to patient information across the continuum of care-- providing
caregivers real-time complete medical histories of wounded soldiers
transferred from Iraq and Afghanistan.

As the largest American military hospital outside the U.S. and the
only American tertiary care hospital in Europe, LRMC is the medical
epicenter for American Wounded Warriors. After injured soldiers are
stabilized on the battlefield, they are airlifted to LRMC for initial
treatment and normally transferred to Walter Reed Medical Center in
Washington, D.C., the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, M.D.,
or other military hospitals in the U.S. With the deployment of
Essentris at LRMC, CliniComp is now the documentation tool in more
than 45 percent of the DoD's inpatient beds.

Before the deployment of Essentris, physicians and other
clinicians at military hospitals receiving patients from LRMC might
have received a paper copy of the patient's LRMC chart. A paper-based
system, however, presents a challenge, as papers are routinely pulled
out of charts, are missing, damaged or illegible, or in certain cases,
are delivered weeks after the patient arrives for care. The
implementation of Essentris will automate the entire process of
real-time capture of a patient's complete medical information. Because
the data is computerized and easily accessible, healthcare
professionals can make timelier and better informed treatment
decisions based on relevant knowledge.

"The DoD and LRMC are entrusting us to provide crucial data to
their physicians to ensure our Wounded Warriors receive the best care
possible. Our advanced clinical system will play an important role in
seamless care coordination made possible through the delivery of
critical information at the point of care in Germany and to clinicians
attending transferred soldiers at U.S.-based military hospitals," said
J. F. Lancelot, president, Technology & Operations, CliniComp Intl. "A
number of clinical personnel have had prior experience with Essentris
stateside and are eagerly awaiting this deployment."

   About CliniComp

CliniComp is a leading provider of multidisciplinary charting and
surveillance solutions to leading hospitals and health systems. In its
nearly two-decade history, CliniComp has been a pioneer in bridging
the gap between the back-office and the bedside by extending existing
HIS and ancillary systems to the point of care. The Essentris
enterprise solution maximizes IT investment and enforces consistent
workflow across all aspects of patient care. Essentris' use of a
single multidisciplinary electronic chart enables caregivers to easily
access an enterprisewide view of the total clinical experience and
provides a new generation of real-time clinical surveillance and
analysis tools. The result is a dramatic improvement in quality and
safety of patient care, outcomes and clinical decision-making.
Essentris is deployed at approximately 50 client sites, including UCLA
