WASHINGTON, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Following is the daily "Profile
America" feature from the U.S. Census Bureau:

TUESDAY, JANUARY 15: PENTAGON AT 65

Profile America -- Tuesday, January 15th. One of the most famous buildings in
the world was dedicated on this day in 1943 -- the Pentagon, in Arlington,
Virginia. Built in just 16 months, it is the fourth largest building in the
world in terms of floor area. Within its walls are 17 1/2 miles of corridors
and offices for 26,000 civilian, military and support personnel. As the nerve
center of the U.S. military, the term "the Pentagon" has come to mean not only
the building, but the Department of Defense itself. Around the world, DOD has
nearly 640,000 civilian employees, and close to 1.4 million men and women in
uniform. You can find these and more facts about America from the U.S. Census
Bureau on the Web at www.census.gov.

Profile America is produced by the Public Information Office of the U.S.
Census Bureau. These daily features are available as produced segments ready
to air on a monthly CD or on Internet at http://www.census.gov (look under the
