Frost & Sullivan Ranks Ixia Number One in Market Share for Worldwide Gigabit Ethernet Market in 2007

Ixia Ranks #1 in Both GbE and 10 GbE Test Equipment Markets
CALABASAS, Calif.--(Business Wire)--Ixia (NASDAQ:XXIA), a leading global provider of IP performance
test systems, today announced that it had gained the top ranking in a
recently released Frost & Sullivan research service on the 2007 "World
Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GbE) Test Equipment
Markets." Ixia garnered 24.1 percent of total market share, with 12
other companies splitting the rest. Frost & Sullivan's analysis
includes revenues from line card modules only, which is an accurate
way to estimate the extent of a company's market penetration.

Ixia led both gigabit and 10-gigabit Ethernet markets. GbE market
revenues totaled $295 million in 2007, of which Ixia had a 21.7
percent market share. The 10 GbE market totaled $141.3 million, with
Ixia's market share at 29.1 percent. Both markets are expected to grow
substantially from 2007 to 2014. According to Frost & Sullivan's
research, the GbE market is expected to grow at a compound annual
growth rate (CAGR) of 21.8 percent, while the 10 GbE market should
grow at a CAGR of 27 percent.

"Gigabit Ethernet is a very competitive space and we're pleased to
be the market leader," said Atul Bhatnagar, Ixia's president and COO.
"The industry clearly recognizes the benefits of Ixia's strong mix of
feature set and power combined with the flexibility of our single test
platform."

Frost & Sullivan's research noted that one of Ixia's most popular
line cards was its XMV16 LAN services module, which provides the
highest GbE port density available. By combining the ability to test
router and switch performance (layer 2-3) and triple-play subscriber
experience (layer 4-7), the XMV16 allows Ixia customers to perform
more testing in less space and in less time while providing the
highest performance to price ratio in the industry.

Another popular card was Ixia's XMV12X load module, the first test
solution on a single blade that emulates line-rate, real-world
(stateful) GbE and 10 GbE traffic. The ability to emulate real-world
application traffic such as voice, video and massive amounts of data
prior to deployment addresses the pressing need for enterprises and
equipment manufacturers to prevent costly service degradation and
outages.

"Other competitive factors contributed to Ixia's ranking, such as
its decision to include a PowerPC processor running Linux on every
single network interface," said Juan Rosales, Test & Measurement
research analyst at Frost & Sullivan. "As a result, the product can
run multiple traffic types on each port and mix layer 2-7 traffic on
each interface. And, with its unified platform, the company maintains
backward compatibility across all products as it moves forward with
its next generation architecture."

One of the newest test platforms, Ixia's two-slot, portable
Optixia(R) XM2 chassis adds flexibility to the Optixia product line.
The two chassis support both GbE and 10 GbE ports. GbE connections are
used primarily in LAN and WAN networks, while fiber-optic 10 GbE links
are used mainly as backbone transport.
