LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- NS8 Corporation ("NS8"), an
international provider of broadband video solutions, announced today it has
partnered with Akimbo Systems (www.akimbo.com), a leader and pioneer in
internet-delivered and downloadable Video on Demand (VOD) content, to launch its
iWAVE Interactive ("iWAVE") services in the U.S. for the first time. Akimbo will
be the exclusive North American partner for iWAVE and will use the service to
power its Internet video storefront and integrated back-end management system.
"As we began to launch our new strategy to focus on superior video delivery
systems powering multiple platforms, we looked for a centralized, scaleable and
robust video management system to help differentiate us in the market and
deliver unparalleled revenue-generating opportunities for our clients. We have
found that Akimbo's own innovative technologies, coupled with NS8's iWAVE, have
the potential to be a game-changing combination. We look forward to working with
NS8 to innovate the web video marketplace," said Thomas Frank, CEO, Akimbo.
Akimbo has developed a turnkey solution for content providers and distributors
that allows them to set their own terms and financial models on their own
websites and platforms, thus giving them more control and greater opportunity to
realize the full revenue-generating potential of their product. In addition,
Akimbo offers VOD content on its own website with an array of "channels"
organized into genres that include Anime, Health & Wealth, Exploration &
Adventure, Family & Fun, and Sports, as well as special interest TV series,
animation, movies, documentaries, and music. Akimbo also syndicates one of the
largest VOD libraries to MSOs, Telcos, and other secure platforms.
As a technology leader in secure digital publishing, the iWAVE platform enables
Telcos, ISPs, and content distributors to increase customer satisfaction and
create new revenue business models. Jim Forbes, CEO of NS8, said, "We're proud
to expand upon our Asia presence into the U.S. with our newest partner Akimbo
and to provide them with a customized and cost-effective means to publish and
share video across the Internet."
iWAVE manages the entire logistics process that governs the publication of
broadband video from the content owner to the consumer. iWAVE integrates with
technology providers that span the entire online video ecosystem, giving media
companies the maximum flexibility to design solutions unique to their needs.
Customers of iWAVE benefit from a choice of pre-integrated partner technologies,
including consumer program guide (CPG), publishing, subscriber management,
digital rights management (DRM), advertising, and reporting.
