New York Biotechnology Association Announces Three Board Appointments

NEW YORK--(Business Wire)--New York Biotechnology Association (NYBA), the voice of New York
State's biotechnology industry, today announced the appointment of
Barbara Dalton, PhD, Barbara Wood, JD, and Jane Wasman, JD, to its
Board of Directors.

   Dr. Nathan Tinker, NYBA Executive Director, said: "Biotechnology
is a powerful economic driver for New York State and I am delighted
that Barbara Wood, Barbara Dalton and Jane Wasman are bringing their
skills and experience to our Board. Their unsurpassed track records of
professional achievement and intricate knowledge of the complex issues

capabilities of our association as we work to enable a new platform
for growth."

   Barbara Dalton, PhD, is Vice President for Venture Capital at
Pfizer Inc. (New York, New York) and leads Pfizer Venture Investments
with interests in a broad range of therapeutics from small molecules
to biopharmaceuticals and vaccines as well specialty pharmaceuticals,
diagnostics, drug delivery and health care technologies. She is an
experienced biotech investor who brings a wealth of experience to
NYBA.

   Barbara A. Wood is the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and
Secretary at OSI Pharmaceuticals (Melville, NY). Before joining OSI in
2001, Ms. Wood was a partner in the Corporate Department of the New
York office of Squadron Ellenoff Plesent & Sheinfeld LLP (now Hogan
and Hartson LLP) where she began her legal career in 1987.

   Jane Wasman has been Executive Vice President, General Counsel and
Corporate Secretary for Acorda Therapeutics (Hawthorne, NY) since May
2004. From 1995 to 2004, Ms. Wasman held various leadership positions
at Schering-Plough Corporation, including Staff Vice President and
Associate General Counsel responsible for legal support for US
Pharmaceuticals operations, including sales, marketing and compliance;
FDA regulatory matters; global research and development; and,
corporate licensing and business development. Previously, Ms. Wasman
specialized in litigation at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson.
She also served as Associate General Counsel to the US Senate
Committee on Veteran's Affairs.
