Curricula Addresses the Critical Role of Master Data and its Integrity as a
Foundation for the Journey to Business Excellence
NEW LONDON, N.H., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Oliver Wight Americas, Inc., the
education and consulting organization for manufacturing professionals,
launches Master Data Integrity, a practical, interactive, instructor-led
course designed to demonstrate the purpose of master data, the importance of
accuracy and integrity of the data, and the critical role of an engineering
change management control process. Oliver Wight's innovative Proven Path
methodology, as applied to data management integrity processes, also will be
introduced during the course of study.
"One of the root causes for not achieving value from an ERP system is the
failure to maintain and manage the master data," explains Robert E. Howard, a
principal of Oliver Wight Americas and lead instructor of the Master Data
Integrity course. "Our goal is to educate key personnel about the major
pieces of master data and how to start on the journey towards improving master
data quality that will enable their ERP system to create information that has
value to the organization."
The course of study is designed for managers and all members of the
business who have direct data management accountability, responsibility, or
are interactive users of ERP-supplied business information. The course will
survey the primary types of business master data and drill into those elements
that are key to insuring that the ERP system enables and is capable of
supporting an integrated planning and control environment. It will include,
by way of examples, both static and transactional data integrity implications
and considerations.
The Master Data Integrity Course includes insights into the impact of data
integrity on business results and how to establish formal processes and data
ownership to ensure the data asset stays in control and creates value.
Specifically, course participants will be able to understand the role of
master data integrity as an enabler to achieving their business strategy;
implement audits and measurement control that will establish and sustain
master data integrity; and design and implement change management controls.
The initial locations and dates scheduled for the Master Data Integrity
Course are: Raleigh, North Carolina (March 4-5); Chicago, Illinois (May 6-7);
and Toronto, Ontario, Canada (September 16-17).
