High Tower Software Announces Cinxi

Security solutions developer High Tower Software today announced a new
generation of high performance security appliances designed to help
organizations
collect disparate network log data, assess it for potential security and
compliance regulations impact, and store it securely for audit purposes. Dubbed
Cinxi (pronounced "seen-zee"), from the Latin "to surround and protect," the
product
linecombines high performance hardware and a new modular software architecture
to deliver
a solution at the cutting edge of the security information and event
management (SIEM) market.

Based on High Tower's previous generation of award-winning security
appliances,
the SEM 3200 series, the Cinxi series offers a full range of robust threat
response, compliance monitoring, and data forensics capabilities organizations
need
to manage a broad variety of business risks.

A Major Evolution in SIEM

At the heart of the Cinxi line is a potent combination of high performance
hardware
and a modern service-oriented software architecture (SOA) written to take
advantage of it. SOA-based systems are the backbone of the world's leading

reliability than older monolithic software platforms.

As an SOA platform, each Cinxi appliance function -- network device support,
log
collection, event correlation, reporting engine, case management, etc. -- runs
as an independent "service" utilizing just a portion of the system's
multi-core CPUs.

running on

Additionally, with the service-oriented architecture, Cinxi users can update

Multiple Platforms and Enhancement Options

Three Cinxi models are available in three different appliance configurations
designed to meet specific performance needs.

-- Cinxi Ranger: a 1u appliance designed for smaller enterprises and
regional offices of larger organizations. The system has 8GB RAM, two 1TB
hard discs, hardware-based data encryption, and redundant, hot-swappable
power supplies. Dual and Quad core CPU configurations are available with
performance of up to 34,656 events per second (EPS).

-- Cinxi Midway: a 2u appliance designed for mid-sized enterprises and
national offices of larger organizations. The system has a quad-core CPU,
32GB RAM, six 1TB hard discs (RAID 5), hardware-based data encryption, and
redundant, hot-swappable power supplies. Performance is up to 69,312 EPS.

-- Cinxi Enterprise: a 5u appliance designed for global enterprises. The
system has dual quad-core CPUs, 48GB RAM, nine 1TB hard discs (RAID 5),
hardware-based data encryption, and redundant, hot-swappable power
supplies. Performance is up to 115,520 EPS.

For organizations with a need for large volumes of active storage,
add-onstorage cabinets are also available.

-- Cinxi Vault: a "plug-and-play" 3u storage cabinet with 15 TB of
additional disc space. The Vault attaches to any Cinxi appliance and up to
three Vaults can be daisy-chained together to provide up to 45TB of
additional storage.

Despite the slew of new features and performance enhancements, Cinxi
maintains
the same easy installation and setup that won its SEM 3200 predecessor
industry accolades.
