Old Newsboys' Goodfellow Fund of Detroit Has Raised $1,315,765 toward Its Goal
of $1.375 Million
DETROIT, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- As of today, the Old Newsboys' Goodfellow
Fund of Detroit has raised $1,315,765 -- 96% of its 2007 fundraising goal of
$1.375 million which the group hopes to meet by the end of its fiscal year on
January 31, 2008. The organization is currently approximately $60,000 short
of its fundraising goal.
"The public always comes through for us, and in our 93-year history we
have never failed to reach our annual fundraising goal," said Peter W.
Waldmeir, president of the Detroit Goodfellows. "We're receiving checks and
donations daily online and in the mail. We had to use some of our reserve
funds to pay for the 30,000 gift boxes we distributed to children in Detroit,
Hamtramck and Highland Park last month. However, we're optimistic that we
will collect the $60,000 we need."
Tax-deductible donations may be sent to: The Old Newsboys' Goodfellow Fund
of Detroit, P.O. Box 44444, Detroit, MI 48244-0444. Donations may also be
