Online/Instants Integrated Services Contract from the West Virginia Lottery,
Following Competitive Procurement
Anticipated Revenues To GTECH Of Approximately US$40 Million Over Five-Year
Contract Term

     ROME and PROVIDENCE, R.I., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lottomatica
S.p.A. (Pink Sheets: LTTOY) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, GTECH
Corporation, has been chosen by the West Virginia Lottery to receive a five-
year integrated services contract to provide a new online and instant gaming
system, terminals, a new telecommunications network, self-service lottery
products, and related ongoing services. This contract award, which is
expected to commence on July 1, 2008, follows a competitive procurement and
includes two one-year extension options. GTECH expects to receive
approximately US$40 million in revenues over the five-year term.
"We are pleased to have been selected by the West Virginia Lottery," said

particularly gratifying in that the procurement placed an emphasis on the
added value and quality of the proposed technological solution. It is also a
strategically important win for GTECH in that the contract had been held by a
competitor."

Virginia Lottery with the Company's Enterprise Series(TM) solution, offering
online and instant-ticket management, and approximately 2,000 Altura(R)

installed by the Company. GTECH will also provide ongoing services including
installation and maintenance of the central system, terminals, and
communications network; field service; retailer training; a statewide sales
force and call center services.
The Request for Proposal (RFP) called for a variety of other optional

subject to further negotiations.
