Arketype Delivers Message of Respect to Kids Using 'Respectacles' During
Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Event

GREEN BAY, Wis., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- On January 21, employees from the
Green Bay advertising and design firm Arketype will ask area second-graders to
put on their "Respectacles" so they may see the world from others' viewpoints.
The whimsical glasses are part of Arketype's effort to commemorate this year's
Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday using the theme of respect.
For the third straight year Arketype employees will take the holiday as a
day "on" instead of a day off, presenting educational programs to area
schoolchildren and working in local nonprofit facilities.
Employees will visit four area elementary schools and role-play scenarios
to engage second-graders in messages of respect, acceptance, diversity,
conflict resolution, and anti-bullying. During the scenes, students will be
given "Respectacles" to wear -- glasses that encourage them to develop
empathy, understanding, and respect for others.
"The idea of mutual respect is at the heart of Dr. King's messages," said
Arketype President Jim Rivett. "It's a principle that embodies the civil
rights movement and it's a practice that deserves our attention just as much
today as it did in the 1960s."
Participating elementary schools include Danz, Red Smith, Baird, and
Kennedy. Additionally, Arketype will donate books on the subject of diversity
to each of the four schools' libraries.
The firm also designed, printed, and distributed distinctive posters to
all Green Bay teachers that promote the topic of respect along with Dr. King's
famous quote, "It's always the right time to do what is right."
Arketype's community service event marking the Martin Luther King, Jr.
holiday began in 2006 in response to well-publicized, negative racial issues
within the local community. As Brown County's population continues to grow in
its diversity, the firm has made the January volunteer effort an annual event.
In November 2007, Arketype received the inaugural Helping Hands Award from
the Green Bay Area Public School District. The award recognizes the firm's
longstanding support of public education and of the students attending Green
Bay's schools.
Arketype, Inc., delivers strategic marketing advantages to leaders of
