                  MIDAS INCOME AND GROWTH INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

On 15 January 2008, Midas Income and Growth Investment Trust plc bought back
25,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 148 pence per share.
Following the buy back, there are 45,427,450 ordinary shares in issue. The share
buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
