WS Atkins plc announces that on 15 January 2008 it purchased through JPMorgan
Cazenove Limited 20,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 1020.1 pence per
share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above
purchase, WS Atkins plc holds 760,500 ordinary shares in treasury, and has
103,691,299 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
