Lippincott Williams & Wilkins and the Society of Critical Care Medicine Extend Long-Term Publishing Partnership
The leading journal in critical care medicine and a unique
subspecialty publication will continue to be published by Lippincott
Williams & Wilkins
PHILADELPHIA--(Business Wire)--Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer
Health, has signed a five year agreement to continue as publisher for
the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM). LWW and the SCCM
launched the flagship journal Critical Care Medicine in 1973. In 2000,
LWW and the SCCM expanded their offerings with the launch of Pediatric
Critical Care Medicine, published in partnership with the World
Federation of Pediatric Intensive and Critical Care Societies.
"As the clinical scope of critical care medicine continues to grow
and be very dynamic, we are pleased to a have a publishing partner who
will help us expand our information and research offerings to meet our
member's growing needs," said SCCM President, Frederick P. Ognibene,
MD, FCCM.
"Over the past few years both of these journals have enjoyed
significant increases in both manuscript submissions and
subscriptions," said Betsy Jones, EVP and GM of journal publishing at
Wolters Kluwer Health. "We are eager to continue working with our
long-time partners to determine the best strategies to reach the
growing ranks of critical care professionals with quality
information."
Both of these peer-reviewed scientific journals are dedicated to
improving the care of the critically ill and injured. Critical Care
Medicine (http://www.ccmjournal.org) covers all aspects of acute and
emergency care for the critically ill, including the latest news on
clinical breakthroughs and promising research. Over 14,000 members of
the SCCM receive the journal in print or online, and it ranks second
in the critical care category in terms of its impact factor, as
measured by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI). ISI ranks
over 6,000 journals based on frequency of citation.
Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (http://www.pccmjournal.org) is
devoted exclusively to pediatric and neonatal intensive care medicine,
and reaches over 2,000 subscribers worldwide. PCC has been adopted as
an official journal of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, World
Federation of Pediatric intensive and Critical Care Societies, the
Paediatric Intensive Care Society, UK, the Latin American Society of
Pediatric Intensive Care, and the Japanese Society of Pediatric
Intensive and Critical Care.
