LA PRAIRIE, QUEBEC, Jan 15 (MARKET WIRE) --
The Management of Vantex Ltd (TSX VENTURE: VTX) is pleased to announce
the delineation of a radiometric anomaly (Showing Manic 2) some 375
metres to the north of the main occurrence (Manic 1).
A second prospecting program carried out by Mr. Daniel Kelly, geological
ing. and consultant, returned significant uranium values ranging from 584
ppm to 923 ppm U3O8 from three samples collected in a stratified black
argillite horizon. In addition, channel sampling of the main showing
(Manic 1) revealed an anomaly of 119 ppm U3O8 over 1 metres while three
selected samples taken 20 metres away on each sides of the channel sample
gave values ranging from 224 to 654 ppm U3O8.
The Manic Property
The Manic property, which consists of 40 cells totalling 2 080 hectares,
was explored in the mid 70's for its uranium potential. Carried out by
the SES Group (Seru Nucleaire, Eldorado Nucleaire and SDBJ - GM34753)
this exploration work delineated a significant uranium anomaly within
isolated portions of sedimentary rocks pertaining to the lower Sakami
Formation, which can reach kilometres in length and up to 370 metres in
thickness (Davis 2006). The Manic basin covers 25 km2 (GM37017) and the
main area of interest 2.5 to 3 km2. Seven samples collected by the SES
Group (6 channel samples and 1 grab) were taken from radioactive zones.
Grades ranged from 53 to 2 463 ppm U for an average of 868 ppm U
(corresponding to 1 024 U3O8) over 7.5 metres.
The management of Vantex intends to resume its field work in the summer
of 2008 by carrying trenching and blasting to obtain fresh cuts of the
favourable horizon. All samples were prepared and assayed at Laboratoire
Expert of Rouyn-Noranda. Mr Daniel Kelly, geo, ing. and independent
qualified person under NI43-101, has reviewed and approved the present
press release.
