US STOCKS-Wall St extends losses on Boeing report

NEW YORK Jan 15 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks extended losses on Tuesday, after The Wall Street Journal reported plane maker Boeing Co (BA.N) is likely to announce more delays for its 787 program.

Boeing shares fell 5 percent to $77.55 and were the top drag on the Dow.

The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was down 277.36 points, or 2.17 percent, at 12,500.79. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was down 33.56 points, or 2.37 percent, at 1,382.69. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC was down 62.83 points, or 2.54 percent, at 2,415.47. (Reporting by Kristina Cooke; Editing by Leslie Adler)
