FACTBOX: Security developments in Iraq

(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 8:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday.

BAGHDAD - The head of a neighborhood police unit in central Baghdad's Fadhil district was killed and six people were wounded in clashes with insurgents, police said.

SHIRQAT - Police and a concerned local citizens patrol killed a man who was wearing a vest packed with explosives in Shirqat, 300 km (190 miles) north of Baghdad, police said. In a separate incident in Shirqat, a bomb on a truck carrying onions killed one policeman and wounded eight others, police said.

BAGHDAD - Two roadside bombs wounded six people, including two policemen, in central Baghdad's Karrada district, police said.

BAGHDAD - Five bodies were found in different districts of Baghdad on Monday, police said.

BASRA - A large fire shut the major Shuaiba refinery near Iraq's oil hub of Basra and damaged gas and fuel production units, a source at the state-run Southern Oil Company said. The source blamed the fire on a mortar attack but Oil Minister Hussain al-Shahristani said it was caused by a coalition forces helicopter. Several people suffered burns in the blaze, which was later extinguished.
