BEIJING Jan 16 (Reuters) - A Chinese court has jailed a man for six years after he drove his truck into a packed mini-bus, killing 24 people, while under the influence of alcohol, a newspaper said on Wednesday.

Twenty-one passengers were injured in the Aug. 25 head-on collision in Wuhan, capital of the central province of Hubei, which plunged both the truck and the mini-bus into a fish pond.

Hu Feng was convicted and sentenced by the People's Court in the Xihu district of Wuhan, the online edition of Southern Metropolis (www.epaper.nddaily.com) said. It did not specify the exact charge.

Hu told the court he would not appeal. The maximum sentence is seven years. (Reporting by Guo Shipeng and Benjamin Kang Lim; Editing by Nick Macfie and Sanjeev Miglani)
