Jan 16 (Reuters) - Israeli drugmaker Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TEVA.O) (TEVA.TA) and Belgian medical company UCB (UCB.BR) said they agreed to jointly promote Teva's U.S. respiratory medicines.

The first product to be sold jointly in the U.S. will be Teva's asthma treatment, ProAir HFA inhalation aerosol, the companies said in a joint statement.

The agreement, for which financial terms were not disclosed, will provide UCB future joint promotion opportunities with other products in development by Teva Specialty Pharmaceuticals, the U.S. respiratory therapy unit of Teva. (Reporting by Varsha Tickoo in Bangalore; Editing by Anupama Dwivedi)
