Vail Resorts Names Mark Gasta New Chief Human Resources Officer

BROOMFIELD, Colo., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Vail Resorts, Inc.
(NYSE: MTN) today announced the appointment of Mark R. Gasta to the position
of senior vice president and chief human resources officer. He will assume
responsibility for all facets of human resources leadership and management
across the Company's operations, reporting to Chief Executive Officer Robert
Katz. Gasta will begin his new position on Feb. 19, 2008.
Gasta joins Vail Resorts from Comcast Communications where, for the past
seven years, he worked in various human resources capacities including most
recently corporate vice president of organizational development for the
company's 90,000 employees. He was responsible for planning and executing
strategies designed to increase the company's performance through the
development of employee talent and empowerment of teams. Prior to that
position, Gasta served as divisional vice president of human resources for the
western region with responsibility for 15,000 employees.

Prior to Comcast, he was the human resources director for Lexis-Nexis in
1999 and a human resources and development manager for Target Corporation from
1997-1999. From 1988-1997, he served as a commissioned officer and aviator in
the United States Army, stationed in the U.S., Germany and Italy. As an
adjunct professor, Gasta has also taught "High Performance Management" in the
master of business administration program at the University of Denver. He is
currently working on receiving his doctorate in organizational change from
Pepperdine University. Gasta holds a master's in business administration from
the University of Denver (2000) and a bachelor's degree from California
Polytechnic State University (1988). Gasta served on the board of directors of
the Urban League of Metropolitan Denver and is an active member of various
professional organizations, including the Society for Human Resource
Management and the Human Capital Institute. He is an avid skier, mountain
biker and Ironman triathlete. Gasta currently lives in the Denver metro area
with his wife and three children.
