                     PETER MCINTOSH RETURNS TO VT GROUP BOARD


Peter McIntosh has returned to the Board of VT Group plc following a successful
two-year secondment as Chief Executive of the Alliance Management Team (AMT) for
the Ministry of Defence Future Aircraft Carrier (CVF) project.

Peter's new role with VT as Executive Director will include responsibility for
the Group's interests in the shipbuilding and naval support Joint Venture being
concluded with BAE Systems. He will be one of three VT Group members of the JV
board.

In addition, Peter will take responsibility for VT's developing environmental
services activities, which currently include nuclear services and waste
management.

There is no information to be disclosed under the requirements of Listing Rule
9.6.13 in relation to this appointment.
